16 – Shuttlepod One

Summary

After conducting some experiments, Tucker and Reed find an asteroid on which they find some wreckage from the Enterprise. The pod has been damaged in some way, so they only have about 15 days to survive. Since they assume the Enterprise has been destroyed, they start for the nearest starbase, knowing they’ll never make it.

Commentary

Though there are some nice parts in this episode, and I really enjoyed watching Reed and Tucker do their best to survive, I couldn’t help but think about how similar this episode is to the Original Series episode called Galileo 7. Even the name sounds similar. I would have liked to have seen something a bit more creative.
