Commentary

OK so my Summary wasn’t great this time, but I actually enjoyed this movie. In fact, I may be one of the very few people who liked this more than Wonder Woman. It’s certainly better than Batman vs Superman.

First, some things that I liked about this movie.

One thing I especially liked was seeing how well these three movies fit together. There are clues in the other two films that hint at what may happen in this one. It would be more enjoyable to have seen the other two films before seeing Justice League, since there are several important plot points that are previously established in the other films.

The acting was actually pretty good in this – especially for a superhero film. I thought Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck were fantastic in their roles, and so was Ray Fisher (Cyborg).

By the time the film ended, I was excited to see more from this group. We’ll see if that ever comes to fruition.

Here are some things I didn’t like too much.

  • Batman’s voice seemed weird. They added some kind of audio filter to make Ben Affleck sound lower pitched but it just didn’t work for me. It sounds too weird.
  • I didn’t like Aquaman – I don’t like Superheroes with bad attitudes. I don’t think it makes them more realistic. It’s annoying to me.
  • I’m not a fan of super slow motion scenes. There were several in this movie, but they were mostly done for effect so that we could see The Flash do his thing. Still, these scenes are slowed down too much.
  • It would have been nice to see Amy Adams in this film more. I’m not sure what else they could have added to this movie to include her in it more than she was, but after her performance in B vs S, I was looking forward to seeing her more in this movie.
  • I didn’t like seeing how easily Superman disposes of Steppenwolf, nor did I like how the movie ended.
  • Actually, I didn’t like Steppenwolf at all anyway.
  • The CGI wasn’t great in this movie, but I can overlook the bad CGI since the rest of the story is good.
