56 – Rajiin

Summary

The Enterprise finds a planet where they will be able to trade for a valuable element they need to help protect the ship from the random anomalies in the Delphic Expanse. Captain Archer also rescues an alien woman, but it turns out she has an ulterior motive.

Commentary

This was a bit more exciting than the rest of the third season that I’ve seen so far. But it still had a high camp factor with the half naked alien running around on the ship creating all kinds of trouble with her “skills.”

The episode doesn’t even get any good until 3/4 of the way through when the Xindi dock with the ship and take the slave woman by force. The Alien Board Meeting that they keep showing random aliens speaking unintelligible languages sure is starting to get cheesy. It reminds me of a cross between Star Wars Episode 2 and Battlestar Galactica.

All in all, this wasn’t that interesting or exciting of an episode, and the series appears to be heading nowhere.

Of Note

Phlox mentions Crewman Cutler in this episode. It turns out that the actress who played this character passed away a month after this episode aired.
