40 – Friday’s Child

Summary

The Enterprise travels to a planet to negotiate for a much-needed mineral. They find the Klingons also on the planet, and the widow of their leader is pregnant.

Commentary

This episode is pretty lame. The alien people look like they’re right out of Flash Gordon. In fact, the entire episode looks like it’s right out of Flash Gordon. The dialogue is stilted, the acting is mediocre, and the storyline is lame and uninteresting. There are worse episodes than this one, but I recommend you skip it.

In this episode, Dr. McCoy says “I’m a doctor, not an escalator.”
