36 – Catspaw

Summary
Kirk and Spock beam down to a planet where they are met by three witches (ghosts, maybe) who tell them to go back. But instead of heeding their advice, they continue and find a Medieval-style castle, a black cat, and a wizard.
Commentary
This is a very cheesy episode, though I did like the cat. The ending has some really funny-looking aliens. But it’s not all bad, and it’s certainly not the worst entry in the series. It’s just not my favorite.
Of Note
This episode first aired on October 27, 1967, so it makes sense that there should be witches, skeletons, and a black cat. It’s kind of a Halloween version of the series. It certainly is a nightmare of an episode, if you catch my meaning.
