34 – The Communicator

Grade: C+

Summary

Upon returning from an away mission, Lt. Reed realizes he left his communicator on the surface of a planet inhabited by pre-warp people. He and Captain Archer return to the surface to retrieve it, but they are mistaken as spies.

Commentary

This episode reminded me of several other Star Trek episodes. It wasn’t bad, though you never really thought that Archer and Reed were in any trouble. Actually, I would like to see more about this particular planet and its people, but I don’t expect it. The only part that I didn’t like about this episode is that yet again, it starts out in the middle of the story instead of at the beginning.
