4 – The Naked Time

The Naked Time (1966) on IMDb

Mr. Spock and another officer beam down to investigate a frozen planet where everyone has died. Most died at their stations, but one woman was strangled to death, and another man died while taking a shower when fully clothed. The officer who beamed down with Spock inadvertently transports the disease with him.

This episode doesn’t really float my boat, I’d say. It’s not really much better than OK. It’s really pretty average. But on the other hand, it’s better than the Man Trap and Charlie X, so that’s good. The acting is better in this episode than in the previous ones, and at least the characters are more consistent with what we’ve come to expect from this series.

But having said that, this still isn’t one of my favorite episodes. It’s certainly better than the remake of the story in the first season of Next Generation, but it’s still not that great.

Of Note

Nurse Chapel has silver-colored hair in this episode for some reason.
