29 – Operation – Annihilate!

Summary

Large amoeba-like creatures are killing human colonists in a certain part of the Federation. Kirk and Spock beam down to an infested planet to see how they can stop the creatures from killing all the humans. The trouble begins when Spock is attacked.

Commentary

I’m not that fond of this episode, really, but it has some decent drama in it. The stuff with Kirk’s family is impressive in places. But the storyline is not all that great.

Of Note

At the end of this episode, Spock explains that Vulcans have an inner eyelid to protect their eyes from the harsh Vulcan sun.
